Steve Dowling ETM Unlearn.jpg

ETM founder Stephen Dowling is a regular speaker at business industry events in Australia and overseas. He is passionate about keeping himself at the forefront of the latest thinking.

Stephen challenges and disrupts traditional mindsets and practices, recognising that what has worked in the past, may not work well into the future. It is our firm belief that the continuous cycle of learning, unlearning and relearning is critical for our future success.

Stephen operates at the forefront of current thinking. He builds relationships and collaborates with organisations and global thought leaders enabling him to provide clients with support and advice based on the latest best practice thinking.

Recent conferences which Stephen has presented at include:

WE got the opportunity to deliver a ‘Learning to Unlearn ’ session for the amazing Draper University. The session was part of their flagship Fundamental of Entrepreneurship Program.

Draper University was founded in 2012 by the amazing Tim Draper. After funding global companies including Robinhood, Coinbase, SpaceX, Hotmail, Skype and Tesla, TIM made a commitment to transform the traditional underperforming education system. The focus at Draper University is to provide transformational pro-business and entrepreneurship training. The learning programs are special and unique. They challenge and dismantle many of the traditional industrial-era education paradigms and business practices.

Tim Draper has disproved the assumption that the delivery of education always guarantees learning. when students enrol at DRAPER UNIVERSITY they need to UNLEARN much of what they have already been taught.

It was an honor and privilege to be asked to do the closing keynote at the recent LGPRO CEO and Director forum. It was fantastic to get this opportunity to share this critically important message with such a big group of senior leaders and we look forward to working closer with LGPRO to support the unlearning & relearning journey required in local government.

we ran a ‘Learning to Unlearn’ session for this great group who are passionate about successfully enabling transformation journeys. What a high caliber group this was and our Unlearn message was well received. We look forward to further supporting their mission.

One key question I posed to the group was. If we can't get our whole organisation open willing & inspired to UNLEARN the past, then how successful can our transformations truly be? If our aim is to build & enable digital 21st century (healthy & adaptive) organisations how on earth is this supposed to be possible if we leave behind old world 20th (& even 19th century) legacy management thinking? Are we setting our transformations up for success or will they always be destined to fail???
